Our first event of the year and what a way to start! Seven of Dorset's finest bands and one from Saumur, France, joined together to make a truly unforgettable concert. From the high level of musical skill from The Christchurch Royal British Legion Band, to the somewhat whacky stage presence of the Bournemouth Carnival Band, to the 'Hokey Cokey' from Dolphin Marching Band! This year's concert really showed off what Dorset has to offer. Eights bands in total:

• Bournemouth Carnival Band (aka Spiderman Band)
• Christchurch Scout and Guide Band
• Christchurch Royal British Legion Band
• Dolphin Marching Band
• Special Guests - L'Elan Saumurois
• Pantastick Steel Band
• Poole Sea Cadet Band
• And of course, the Dorset Youth Marching Band

The bands came together as one at the end to play a few, very powerful tunes, receiving a standing ovation.

Of course an event like this wouldn't be possible without the dedication from all those behind the scenes, so a massive thank you goes to all the people, committees, band members, leaders, Bandmasters and of course the audience!

With a start like this to 2009, we can't wait for the rest of the year.
