The leadership & management teams are making the final preparations for France 2010.
The Dorset Youth Marching Band will set off from Britain's shores on Friday 28th May and head down through France to Saumur where we will stay in a near by town until heading back to Dorset on 4th June.
Whilst there, we will have plenty to keep us busy:
- We'll meet with friends from years past, including l'Elan Saumurois, who we first met during France 2007 and our friends from France 2006, l'Avenir Allonnais.
- Host a BBQ for freinds new and old
- Spend time in Saumur, playing, shopping and sightseeing.
- Visit the very impressive Doué Zoo whilst out there too.
- and plenty more in between!
This years trip promises to be great one! Be sure to keep checking the website for updates!

Ben's Celebration Concert - Saturday 17th April 2010 |
|
Tuesday, 06 April 2010 09:53 |
Ben's Celebration Concert is being organised by the Dorset Youth Marching Band to raise money for the Corbin Avenue and Glenmore Road Surgeries, specifically to equip the Blood Pressure and Treatment Rooms. The concert takes place on 17th April 2010, 8pm at the Allendale Community Centre, Wimborne Minster. The concert is a tribute to a loved member of the Dorset Youth Marching Band, Ben James, who sadly passed away last August. There is no lack of support for the concert, we will have performances from the Dorset Youth Youth Marching Band and Gugge 2000 as well as a variety of other performances, members from the Pantastick Steel Band will join DYMB on stage. That's not all, there will be an auction on the night where you can get your hands on the following brilliant prizes with all proceeds going towards the concert's worthwhile cause:
- Adults mountain bike
- Meal for two at The Lambs Green Inn, Corfe Mullen to include two courses and a bottle of wine
- Standard service of a car
- Full vehicle valet
- One evening babysitting service
- and more on the night!
So, for a great night in aid of a great cause, reserve your tickets (for just £2 each!) by calling Sammy on 07926 202 324. |

The Dorset Youth Marching Band wish all a Happy New Year!
2010 is shaping up to be a great year for DYMB already! We're kicking the new decade off in style with Massed Bands in Concert 2010 on 14th February. We have the usual fetes and parades in spring. The highlight of the first half of the year will certainly be France 2010, which is already looking to be one of the best.
Summer will consist of the Summer Carnivals, fetes and the highlight of any band members year, Kingsbridge Camp. That's just taking us up to July, so be certain to continue checking DYMB.org and Facebook to be kept up to date! |

The Dorset Youth Marching Band of Wimborne wish all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. The Band have had a very busy year, with ups and downs for all. It's hard to beleive that 11 months ago, we were performing in the first event of the year, Massed Bands in Concert, and now here we are at the end of 2009, heading into a new decade.
On the 19th May 2009, we were officially awarded title of Wimborne Town Band and can't end the year without saying a massive thank you to the people of Wimborne. We are very proud to be the Town Band and thank Wimborne for the support we've received since DYMB formed. We are playing in Wimborne throughout the Festive Season, so be certain to keep an eye out for us!
Merry Christmas from all at the Dorset Youth Marching Band! |
