April26th April 2008 - Royal Gloucester and Berkshire Regiment Reunion Parade We were asked to lead this parade again this year after successfully leading it in 2007. We start from St Peters Church in Parkstone and march the members of the British Legion around to the British Legion. We were blessed with brilliant weather for today's event, so all the members were in high spirits!
23rd April 2008 - Mayor of Wimborne Minster St Georges Day Concert This was a new one for us. We had been approached and asked to organise a concert to be shown in the Wimborne Minster in aid of the Mayor of Wimborne Minster's charities. We arranged for several different performances:
The audience (which filled the pews of the Minster) seemed to thoroughly enjoy the concert, with plenty of applause and smiling faces. The charities that benefited from the concert are: DYMB wishes to thank all the other groups for performing in this charitable event, the Mayor of Wimborne Minster for giving us the privilege of organising the event and of course, the audience that attended to support the charities.
20th April 2008 - Wimborne Minster St Georges Day Parade This is our first parade of the year. We march the various Scout and Guide organistations through the centre of Wimborne to the Minster, where they attend a service.We stopped off for some refreshments whilst they were in the service to prepare ourselves for the march back. Once they were out and formed up behind us, we marched them back through the centre playing an array of tunes to the crowds that watched. The practice we have been putting in over the past few months really showed whilst we were out, with plenty of applause from the crowds. Well done to all the members! |
