Poole Father Christmas Parade - November 20th 2005 |
This wasn't a regular event for us, but it wasn't our first time performing in it. We only had a handful of drummers for this event, and we had to shuffle the band around to get that, and we we're a little short on bugles too. However, we had a few new tunes to play in this event. The band was able to start playing Christmas Carols again, as it was a Chrismas parade. With our usual smartness and some seasonal playing thrown in, we were able to successfully impress the crowd. |

Remembrance Day Parades - November 13th 2005 |
It has been over a month since we have been out on a parade. So with the whole band fully rested, and ready to entertain once more, we lead two parades, one through Broadstone in the morning, and one through Corfe Mullen in the afternoon. We march at a slightly slower pace for these events, and even with this in mind, the newer members still managed to adapt fairly quickly. |

Frome Carnival - September 24th 2005 |
At Frome we took place in two events. The afternoon carnival, and the longest carnival we will do this year, the evening carnival. As usual though we seemed to have the weather on our side. It wasn't too hot, and wasn't too cold. I feel, and I'm sure everyone there would agree, that the band members put in a tremendous effort, considering how exhausting the carnival was. We were short on drummers, at some points only having three, but they managed to sound just as exceptional even with limited numbers. This just shows how well we seem to be able to adapt, even when we are low in numbers. |

Gillingham Carnival - October 8th 2005 |
We were short on Buglers for this event. However we still managed to impress the crowd with our smartness and music. We were, yet again, very lucky with the weather. It seemed to rain all the way to the event on the coach, and was raining everywhere, except Gillingham. Which was a stroke of luck for us. This was a fairly lengthy event, but the band still managed to march on through right to the end with no trouble. |

Fun Night - September 21st 2005 |
This was a band practice, where we focused on letting all the members enjoy themselves. They bought in their computer consoles (PS2's, GameBoys' etc.) and board games. Also we were all swapping instruments, trying them out, having a laugh, to see if we would like to play it more, or just for fun. I think I can safely say that all the members thoroughly enjoyed themselves. This is definitely something that will happen again. |
