The Dorset Youth Marching Band website has a new look! This fresher, cleaner look is designed to make the site easier to use, with important features and items being easier to find. All of the functionality and content from the site is still here, you can still find videos and pictures of the band as well as write ups on our past events.
We've also added a couple of new features, including the ability to share articles from the site on Social Networking sites with just one click and also the ability to search the site's content using the search box on the right of the menu bar along the top. DYMB on form for 2009 Carnival Season

Recent practices and teaching have paid off for the Dorset Youth Marching Band. DYMB have come away from three of their recent events with awards for Best Band. Bournemouth Carnival presented the Dorset Youth Marching Band with awards for 'Best Band' and 'Best Presented Band'. The Band came away from Sturminster Newton Carnival with the award for 'Best Band' and most recently, they were awarded the shield for 'Best Band' at Blandford Carnival.
2009 has been a very busy year for the Quarterjacks (DYMB). The band is out almost every weekend during Summer and Autumn every year and this year is no different. Spring saw the band performing in parades, fetes, fairs and ceremonies most weekends. All this performing helps the members become more experienced which has clearly shown in recent events. Devoted Bandmember and Leader, Ben James passed away suddenly on 4th August 2009. Our deepest sympathies are with Ben's family during this difficult time. Ben was a brilliant Bass Bugler, Bass Drummer and musician. Words cannot express the loss that all in DYMB feel now. Ben was a member of the band for many years and we have greatly benefited from his contributions during that time.
He will live on through the music he loved and the friends and family who love him.

DYMB are officially the Wimborne Town Band!

We, the Dorset Youth Marching Band of Wimborne have been officially awarded the title of Wimborne Town Band by Cllr Robin Cook, as the position of Town Mayor was handed over to Cllr John Burden on the 19th May 2009. The title was awarded to us due to our services to Wimborne and we have been permitted to use it whenever we see fit.
The Dorset Youth Marching Band are and always have been very proud to be a part of Wimborne. Our nickname, "The Quarterjacks" actually comes from the Quarter Jack in the Minster's clock tower.
We are proud to become the Wimborne Town Band and look forward to continuing to perform in and representing Wimborne in the array of events Wimborne has to offer!
The results are in! The weather at Moors Valley today was spectacular. The runs went very well and the Dorset Youth Marching Band played as the 10k runners came in.
