Corfe Mullen Carnival - Saturday 13th June 2009 |

Corfe Mullen Carnival is more often than not a very hot parade, today was no different! The Sun was beaming down as we lead the Carnival from one end of the large village of Corfe Mullen, to the recreation ground at the other end of Corfe Mullen. A lot of our members call Corfe Mullen home, so it was important that we looked and sounded to our best. The crowds applauded as we marched past right up to the finish, when we packed up and headed home.
Today was a brilliant today, with all members playing to their absolute best, despite the heat. Let's hope that the Summer of 2009 gives us more of the same!

Hello Dolly! - Tuesday 23rd - Saturday 27th June 2009 |

We, the Dorset Youth Marching Band of Wimborne, were asked by Wimborne Musical Theatre to perform in a part of their latest production, Hello Dolly!
"HELLO, DOLLY! is an irresistible story of the joy of living, glittering with happy songs, shining with loving scenes, alive with the personality of one of the most fabulous characters on the musical stage...Dolly Gallagher Levi!" - Wimborne Musical Theatre
This was very different to our usual line of performances. A selection of the DYMB's members headed off to various rehearsals and then soon enough, it was show time! We were on stage for one or two minutes, playing one tune, Before The Parade Passes By. The Company were very thankful for our attendance and we were very grateful for the opportunity. The performance certainly appeared to be a massive success and the parts we saw were truly spectacular. One of our own members was even a performing member of the company! Well done to Wimborne Musical Theatre and thank you for the opportunity to perform with you on stage! |
