Massed Bands in Concert 2010 - Sunday 14th February 2010 |
|
The 10th Annual Massed Bands in Concert 2010 and another huge success. The evening saw an array of talented bands and musicians perform throughout. Kicking off with a display from the Dorset Youth Marching Band showing their array of different styles from traditional pieces like Men of the Hills or the Dolly Grey Melody, to Starlight by Muse and Billy Jean by Michael Jackson (complete with Moon Walking from the band's Drum Major!). Then it was the turn of the Bournemouth Air Cadets Corps of Drums. With incredibly sharp drill, brilliant playing and a creative approach to each piece, they impressed completely. The Bournemouth Air Cadets were followed by the Bournemouth Carnival Band. The Bournemouth Carnival Band have performed in the concert for a good few years now and never fail to get a laugh from the audience. This band of Spidermen perform a variety of pieces whilst proving to be very entertaining along the way. The curtains closed on the first half, for the interval and to allow the next performances get ready.
